Five for Friday

Today I’m linking up wtih Doodle Bugs Teaching Five For Friday linky for the first time ever. This is something that I have wanted to add to my weekly routine for a while and I finally took the leap. Let’s see how this goes…

I am already feeling my annual time-to-decorate-my-classroom giddiness. Every year I seem to feel it earlier and earlier in the summer…I have issues. This year is ridiculously early but I am going to blame it on the fact that I delivered all of my goodies to my new classroom at my new school. That’s right folks! I moved to a new school and will be teaching second grade this year. I have a long road ahead of me in the decorating/organizing/classroom nesting department but this beautifully clean slate makes me so eager to start!

I just finished my third of eight Write To Explain Math Task Card Collections for second grade. Boy does it feel good to have a head start on these little beauties before the school year begins! I am so excited to use these with my students again this year because they made incorporating writing into math on the daily no sweat!

My next project is a total overhaul of my Back To School Classroom Essentials Bundle. It has been a huge learning experience developing my resource-creation skills over the past year and it is so rewarding to see the evolution of my style as I start this revamp. Here’s a quick peek at my progress:

With more than half the summer gone, I have run out of series to watch on Netflix and HBO so I’m taking suggestions. We just finished the last season of VEEP. If you haven’t watched this show, you must! It will make you laugh out loud while simultaneously making you feel totally lazy about your life and the number of hours you work (and here you thought it wasn’t possible for teachers to have that feeling).

We are currently on a summer vacation in London and are heading to Paris on Monday. Traveling with my husband is my favorite thing to do. I’m so thankful for opportunities like this!
